Seasonal Influenza 2026/27
It is recommended that everyone over the age of 65 or patients under the age of 64 who suffer with a chronic disease is vaccinated against flu each year.
Pregnant women are also recommended to have the vaccination during flu season for each pregnancy.
You can access the flu vaccination from a local participating pharmacy.
The national flu programme also offers flu vaccination to children as follows:
- Children born between 1 September 2022 and on or before 31 August 2024 (age 2 or 3) can be vaccinated at a local participating pharmacy from 1st October
- Children aged 2-17 between who are in clinical risk group can be vaccinated at a local participating pharmacy from 1st October
- All School age children, from reception to year 11 will also be offered a flu vaccination in school
