Strep A
Parents are urged to be vigilant with possible symptoms of a Strep A infection as current rates are higher than expected.
Step A normally causes mild illness including symptoms such as, a high temperature, sore throat, flu like symptoms or rash.
The bacteria can also cause illnesses affecting the skin, soft tissue and respiratory tract including Tonsillitis, Scarlet Fever and Impetigo among others.
Good hand and respiratory hygiene are important for stopping the spread of many bugs. By teaching your child how to wash their hands properly with soap for 20 seconds, using a tissue to catch coughs and sneezes, and keeping away from others when feeling unwell, they will be able to reduce the risk of picking up or spreading infections.
